Goals & Objectives

An experimental blockchain project focused on asset transfer.

StrattCoin is a blockchain designed specifically for transferring tokenized assets between parties. This is an experimental project in active development.

Project Goal

StrattCoin aims to be a blockchain optimized for transferring tokenized assets between parties. The project is experimental and under active development.

Design Objectives

The principles guiding StrattCoin's development.

Asset Transfer Focus

Designed specifically for transferring assets including tokens and NFTs. The protocol includes asset-awareness at the protocol level, which is intended to help prevent accidental asset destruction. Performance compared to general-purpose blockchains has not been independently verified.

Decentralization Goals

The design aims for no central authority, with transactions and coin issuance managed by the network. Uses the KAWPOW algorithm, which is intended to keep mining accessible to GPUs rather than specialized ASICs. Development follows an open contributor model.

Fair Launch Approach

No pre-mine. No developer allocation. No founder set-aside. The intent is for all coins to be distributed through mining from day one.

User Control

Designed so users maintain control of their own assets. Uses the UTXO model. Aims to be censorship resistant, though this depends on network distribution.

Regulatory Considerations

The protocol itself does not enforce specific jurisdictional rules. Users and applications built on StrattCoin are responsible for their own regulatory compliance.

Open Source

MIT licensed with public development. Anyone can review the code, contribute, or fork the project.

Long-Term Goal

StrattCoin aims to provide infrastructure for asset tokenization and transfer. Whether this proves useful in practice remains to be seen as the project develops.

Design Approach

Key technical decisions in StrattCoin's design.

Protocol-Level Asset Handling

Unlike tokens embedded in general-purpose blockchains, StrattCoin's protocol is designed with native asset awareness. The intent is to prevent accidental asset destruction and optimize transfer operations.

GPU Mining

Uses the KAWPOW algorithm, which is designed to be efficiently mined with consumer GPUs. This is intended to reduce mining centralization compared to ASIC-dominated networks.

Fair Distribution

Launched with no pre-mine, no developer allocation, and no founder set-aside. All coins are distributed through mining.

Potential Use Cases

Possible applications for StrattCoin's asset transfer capabilities. These are theoretical - actual implementation requires appropriate legal and regulatory compliance.

Potential: Tokenized Securities

Could potentially be used to tokenize stocks, bonds, or other financial instruments. Would require compliance with applicable securities laws and regulations, which vary by jurisdiction.

Potential: Fractional Real Estate

Could potentially represent fractional property ownership as tokens. Would require appropriate legal structures and compliance with real estate and securities regulations.

Potential: Digital Collectibles

The protocol supports creating unique tokens that could represent digital art or collectibles. Actual value and authenticity depend on external verification and market acceptance.

Potential: Loyalty Programs

Could be used for loyalty points or gift card tokens. Requires integration with existing business systems and appropriate legal frameworks.

Potential: Gaming Items

Could represent in-game items or currencies as tokens. Actual utility depends on game developer integration and player adoption.

Potential: Supply Chain Records

Could track products through a supply chain using asset records. Usefulness depends on integration with physical verification systems and industry adoption.

Governance Approach

How development decisions are made.

Open Contributions

Anyone can submit code, proposals, or bug reports. Contributions are reviewed by existing maintainers.

Public Discussion

Development discussions happen in public channels. Roadmap priorities are discussed openly, though final decisions rest with maintainers.

On-Chain Voting (Planned)

Token holders may be able to participate in some governance decisions via on-chain voting. This feature is under development and its scope is not yet finalized.
